Matthew 12:14-15 Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him. 15 But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;
There are places where God’s people really do run the risk of physical harm or even imprisonment. We can learn what to do from Jesus. He did not go into hiding. He was bold in His witness but as in these verses He also used wisdom. When He knew that they were looking to kill Him, He left the area. He found another place but He continued His ministry.
Too many use safety and security as an excuse not to be in the ministry or do ministry. Jesus never did that. It wasn’t a matter of not doing ministry but of moving on to another area to continue preaching.
Most of us will never encounter any of these problems. We should be bold enough to witness and tell others about Jesus both in our writing, our speech, to our friends, neighbors, and people we have contact with. No reason to hide our candle under a bushel basket.
Those that live in creative access countries need to continue preaching. If they feel their lives are in danger then they can move on, as Jesus did. But it is never right to just quit. We are to carry the gospel.
A creative access country is a country that we used to call closedt. It refers to a country where it is illegal to preach the gospel of Christ. But we are mandated by a higher authority to preach anyway.
So use wisdom to continue preaching. It is never wise to seek a place or way to avoid harm by simply hiding or quitting!
