Hebrews 10:3 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.
The animal sacrifices that were offered in the Old Testament did not remove their sin. The sacrifices gave temporary relief. They got forgiveness for sins past but new ones were still there till the next sacrifice. Every time they sacrificed they were reminded that they would have to do so again. Never finished. Never totally free.
Their sacrifices simply reminded them of their sins. Their sacrifices reminded them that they needed a better sacrifice.
The law and the system of sacrifices was inferior. They were the shadow of what was to come, Jesus.
Thanks to Jesus we have full and final forgiveness. We realize that we are free. Our conscience has been purged or cleansed from the guilt of sin.
Don’t you thank God for Jesus and what He did on the cross of Calvary? Have you received the full pardon of your sins. Jesus paid it all. Believe, trust Him and what He says and what He did.
We are reminded of how good God is and how good our Saviour is. We are reminded that He did what we never could do.
Every time we worship we think not of our sin but of our Saviour. We rejoice in Jesus
