Today’s reading Ezekiel 1-3
Ezekiel 2:5 And they, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, (for they are a rebellious house,) yet shall know that there hath been a prophet among them.
This was the theme verse for the Peru Bible College when we lived in Peru. When God gave me a job to do it was not a matter of if I would be successful or not but whether I would be faithful to preach the truth. If they hear or do not hear is not the question. The answer is that they will know that there has been a prophet among them.
We easily determine our success by our results. Ezekiel was to judge his success by his faithfulness to be God’s man. As you do the ministry that God has called you to determine to be who you ought to be more than to do what you ought to do.
Do follows be. If you are then you will do. We do not do to be! That is the message of grace. You have been born again, filled with the Holy Spirit of God, and sent by God to do a work. So just do the work you were sent to do. Let God use you.
The main thing is to love God. Let all that you do flow out of your love for Him and His love for you. Let His love be shed abroad through you.
It will take the pressure off and still let you know that you are doing the work of God!
