Isaiah 9:17 Therefore the Lord shall have no joy in their young men, Neither shall have mercy on their fatherless and widows: For every one is an hypocrite and an evildoer, And every mouth speaketh folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, But his hand is stretched out still.
Isaiah writes condemnation after condemnation of the people of God. He tells them how unhappy He is. He tells them that there are and will be consequences for their sins. But I am drawn to the last part of this verse.
In the Old Testament even, in the middle of His cry against their sin, Isaiah reminds them that His hand is stretched out still. They can still repent. They can still get right.
I want you to know today that He loves you. He was a wonderful, kind, and merciful God in the Old Testament and still is today.
