Genesis 45:5 Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life.
Joseph wanted his brothers to see the big picture. God had allowed all that had happened in his life to take place for a greater purpose. God was allowing Joseph to suffer, to miss his family, to learn a new language, to live in a strange place, with strangers for all these years to save the family.
Joseph had not realized it at the moment but God was saving his family. Joseph had every right to be angry. His brothers fully expected to be in big trouble when they realized that this powerful man was their brother. His words were to comfort them.
God was at work in Joseph’s life. He was mature enough to realize what God was doing. At the moment it might be that we do not understand but with time very likely God will help us see what He was doing. He works all things out to our good if we are His. I will trust Him with all that is happening in my life.
Now look at the place you are in and what is happening in your life. See things as bigger than just coincidence. Realize that God is at work. Trust Him. Move forward knowing that even these hard times are going to be used of Him for something good. It is time to trust Him. It is time to believe God enough to know that He will do only what is right!
