Genesis 47:27 And Israel dwelt in the land of Egypt, in the country of Goshen; and they had possessions therein, and grew, and multiplied exceedingly.
They are in the middle of a famine. They have had to leave their homes. They are strangers and pilgrims. They are growing and multiplying. Not to a small degree but exceedingly they grow. They have possession therein.
Do you notice how God is blessing? Could it be that we worry about our circumstances more than we should? Could it be that we should focus on doing what we ought to do and leaving the results to God?
I am afraid that we miss so much of what God has for us because we focus on what is wrong more than what is right!
Tomorrow’s reading Genesis 48
Not real fear but learned fear
Isaiah 29:13 Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:
This is a sad commentary. God’s people do not really love Him. They talk it but they do not walk it. They fear Him but only as a learned response. They do not believe it. They do not feel it. It is not real to them.
How many times have we become religious but not right. We have learned the language but it is not from the heart.
Check out yourself and your relationship to Him!
