Numbers 26:65 For the LORD had said of them, They shall surely die in the wilderness. And there was not left a man of them, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.
Because of their lack of faith and rebellion God had said that all would die in the wilderness above the age of 20. Only Joshua and Caleb have survived. It is not time to begin dividing the inheritance. What a shame that so many could not enjoy what God had for them.
We cannot play with sin and not suffer the consequences. God will not love you less but you have a purpose here on this earth. It is to honor and glorify God. If you do not then He will put you to the side or take you to Heaven. God is at work. His purposes will not be stopped.
I want to please Him and glorify Him. I want my life to count for His greatness and goodness. I want to see Him glorified. If I serve Him with love and honor He can and will do that through my life. If not then I will miss out.
Have you determined to get all that God has for you?
Tomorrow’s reading Numbers 27
Bold though ignorant and unlearned
Acts 4:20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.
Peter and John were bold not because of their education or social standing but because of having been with Jesus. They had seen and experienced things that were beyond human imagination. Now when asked to be quiet they could not! They had seen and heard Jesus.
They knew His power and deity. They were full of what God did and can do!
Could it be that our lack of boldness is that we have not been with Him enough? Or could it be that we have not seen and heard enough of our great God to be bold for Him? When He has done such a great work in the life of a person it seems that they had a hard time not telling others.
