Esther 2:21 In those days, while Mordecai sat in the king’s gate, two of the king’s chamberlains, Bigthan and Teresh, of those which kept the door, were wroth, and sought to lay hand on the king Ahasuerus. 22 And the thing was known to Mordecai, who told it unto Esther the queen; and Esther certified the king thereof in Mordecai’s name.
Mordecai did something with no thought of reward. He saved the king’s life. He was just doing right. He told Esther. She gets it into the king’s log. Later when Mordecai is in a near life and death situation with Haman this good deed will be the salvation of Mordecai.
I doubt that Mordecai thought it would have such a large impact. All he did was his duty.
Did you ever think that a log book is being kept of what we are doing? It is kept in the hearts of our friends and enemies. It is obviously kept also by the Lord. It is the small things that just might make a difference someday.
Do the right thing today in that one small act! Do not just let it slide. The little acts might just add up to a life saving situation sometime in the future!
