Genesis 39:2-4 And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. 3 And his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand. 4 And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him: and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand.
Joseph has been hated by his brothers, beaten up, sold into slavery, abandoned by those that were supposed to love him, and is now a slave in a foreign country. In all of that he is prospering. Other people looking at him could see that God was with him. God was blessing Joseph when others would have been crying and hiding out from their problems. Joseph rose to success and prominence in a place and conditions that should have made that impossible.
How do we keep a good attitude when everything is falling apart around us? How do we focus on the task at hand and not ourselves? How do we continue to honor God in spite of our circumstances?
Maybe we have just become too weak. Maybe we are too self centered to consider that God might be working even in trying times.
You can prosper. You will win. You are a child of God and all of His promises are yours!
