John 18:26 One of the servants of the high priest, being his kinsman whose ear Peter cut off, saith, Did not I see thee in the garden with him?
Peter had been very brave even if he was mistaken to be so just a few hours ago in the garden. Now he is warming himself at a fire and a man that saw his bravery now sees his cowardice.
Isn’t that just like us. One minute we are so brave and doing so well and the next we are scared to death. All that points to is our need for Christ. We cannot please God in our own schemes and efforts but He loves us because of how good He is.
Peter is loved-in the garden acting rashly, or by the fire acting like a coward.
In just a few days God will allow him to preach the biggest sermon in the New Testament-results wise.
What a good God we serve!
