Job 38:1 Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said, 2 Who is this that darkeneth counsel By words without knowledge? 3 Gird up now thy loins like a man; For I will demand of thee, and answer thou me. 4 Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if thou hast understanding.
Much of the book of Job is Job wanting answers from God. Job wants to know why. Job would like an opportunity to state his case.
His friends are there trying to answer for God and give lots of bad information and wrong attitudes. Job hold on to his integrity.
But now God wants answers. He reminds Job that He is God. Maybe part of Job’s problem is that he thinks he can understand God and His reasoning. Maybe Job should realize that God is greater than Job. Maybe Job should realize that God created it all and stands above it all.
I am often tempted to question God, to ask why. I am often tempted to think that things aren’t like they should be.
I need reminded like Job that God is in charge. He knows. I should trust Him!
