Today’s reading Philippians 1-4
Philippians 3:8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,
For Paul there was no decision to be made. Jesus was and is more important than any and every thing in his life from birth until the end. He wanted to know Jesus. He wanted to know Him intimately. He wanted to really develop his personal relationship with the Lord and thought of everything else as nothing but dung, excrement! He wanted a deeper, closer relationship with Jesus Christ.
It wasn’t about Paul or what he had but about Jesus. Paul was willing to give up everything he had to know Jesus and deepen that relationship. That is how we must feel. He must be more important to us than any one or any things
Are you hunger for Christ? Do you live seeking Him? Are you full out, giving all, wanting to serve God and know Jesus?
What is happening in your life that shows this deep love for Him? Maybe it shows in your love of your career, your hobby, your family, money, or material goods but have you counted anything loss to know and serve Him?
