Today’s reading Ephesians 5-6
Ephesians 6:19-20 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
Paul was in jail for preaching and teaching about Jesus and His finished work on Calvary. While he is in jail he writes the Ephesians and asks them to pray for him that God will give him the words to witness of Jesus with. He wants to continue speaking boldly about Jesus. He realizes that no matter where God has placed him that he is there to share the good news of Jesus Christ.
I fail so greatly at talking about Jesus to those who have no personal relationship with Him. As I read this today I want to be an ambassador where ever I am. I know that God has me here. I want to speak of Jesus. I want to boldly mention His name and what He is doing and has done. I want to speak boldly for Christ and quit making excuses.
Do you feel like you talk of Jesus enough? Are you bold to share your faith? Does this verse speak to you?
