Joshua 18:3 And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, How long are ye slack to go to possess the land, which the LORD God of your fathers hath given you?
The land was already theirs. It had been given to them by God. Yet they were hanging back, indecisive, undetermined, and not taking what was theirs. Joshua asks the question, How long?
I wonder today if we have any idea of all that Jesus has done for us. It is already ours. We can live a life of victory. We do not have to live a life of discouragement and defeat. We do not have to let sin defeat us. We do not have to live in fear. We have victory.
How long before we quit complaining and just go get what is ours? Get in the Book. Get in prayer. Start your ministry. Start telling people about Jesus. Step out and enjoy who you are in Christ!
Tomorrow’s reading Joshua 19
Praising the Devil through complaining!
Numbers 11:1 And when the people complained, it displeased the LORD: and the LORD heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the LORD burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp.
When the people complained it displeased the Lord. They weren’t satisfied with what God was doing in their lives. They wanted something different. They thought they knew more than He did.
He has just convicted me. I have a great life. I do not need Him to do anything else than He has already done. I shouldn’t be complaining. I shouldn’t be trying not to brag on how good things are. They are good because He is at work in me.
I thought just now of how I always want to preface the good things are happening with how I want more of something. That is a form of complaining. I thought of how I keep wishing for just a little more rather than constantly being grateful.
God forgive me for not rejoicing in everything that you are doing and have done. Help me to not preface my praise with any doubt but to just rejoice in all that you are doing!
