I Samuel 15:23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, He hath also rejected thee from being king.

This is a strong statement. Basically Saul did things his way. God calls that rebellion. He says that when I decide to do things the way I want to do them that I am rebelling and that is like witchcraft, demon stuff.

I don’t know that we ever see it as being so strong but it is. When Saul reject God’s leadership God decided to take Saul’s leadership position from him.

God’s Word is not just something to read but God speaking. God telling us how He likes things. I want to please Him.

I have failed in so many ways. I know that I am forgiven but at the same time there are consequences. I want to be careful to be obedient. I want to know what He says and do it!

This was a big struggle for me growing up. I didn’t do really evil or wicked things so i just figured I was not that bad. However, this verse blows that idea out of the water. God calls doing my own thing witchcraft and idolatry. That is a serious sin. Thanks for sharing!
