Today’s reading Hosea 5-8

Hosea 8:7 For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: It hath no stalk: the bud shall yield no meal: If so be it yield, the strangers shall swallow it up.

They sowed the wind and reaped the whirlwind. I think that when the consequences come for our actions we are often shocked. We didn’t sow that much. We don’t deserve such a severe repercussion but that is the way it happens. Sin bears fruit. It has consequences. They are harsh and they hurt!

Our sin put Jesus on the cross. He bore our sins but that does not relieve us consequences. The sin brings its own punishment, its own repercussions. The challenge would be to live up to who we are in Christ. Do not allow Satan to think that he can get us to see sin as being innocent.

I have made so many mistakes in my life. They hurt. They brought consequences that often keep paying long after the sin. We are forgiven but we live with the consequences.

Look to Jesus. Seek Him. Do not play with sin!
