The thesis of my book Winning with People highlights the importance of the people in our lives: “People can usually trace their successes and failures to the relationships in their lives.” It’s been my observation that
When I’m with the wrong people asking the wrong questions, I am wasting my time.
When I’m with the right people asking the wrong questions, I am wasting their time.
When I’m with the wrong people asking the right questions, I am spending time.
When I’m with the right people asking the right questions, I am investing my time.
I’ve said it before, but it bears repeating. Find the right people and ask them the right questions if you want to keep growing as a leader.
