Today’s reading Romans 13-16

Romans 15:24 Whensoever I take my journey into Spain, I will come to you: for I trust to see you in my journey, and to be brought on my way thitherward by you, if first I be somewhat filled with your company.

Paul was never satisfied with the ministry he had. He always wanted to do more, go further, preach to other people, get the gospel out! He is planning a trip to Spain that we do not know if he ever made or not. He planned on stopping by Rome to see the church there and he hoped that they would help him continue further on. He was counting on their help to keep getting the gospel out. He would be blessed both financially and spiritually to spend some time with the church there.

Now as I think of our ministry I want to challenge us not to be satisfied. God has given us a great church. He is doing great things in our midst but there is always more that we can accomplish. The moment we arrive we die. I do not want to become an internally focused church. I always want to be seeking out more that I can do in His service and I know you do also.

What more could you be doing to get the gospel out? Are you thinking of and considering what else God might have you do? How are you studying and preparing to do just that?
