The Short Version:

WorldEvangelism.net is here to challenge, motivate, and train men for the rigors of missionary life and the mission field. In a church world environment that mostly thinks in terms of preparing pastors, evangelists, youth directors, and Christian School teachers there is a place for the cross cultural, church planting, man training missionary!

Have you realized how unprepared you are to do something so big? Are you afraid that if you do not get help you will drown when you are all alone on the other side of the world?

The Long Version:

There are things that someone should have taught you.

How to learn a language, adapt to another culture, start a church in a completely foreign culture, and much more. How to organize a church, train and leave the new pastor in place where he can truly have a successful ministry.

You shouldn’t have to wait until you are overseas and frustrated, floundering, failing, and don’t have anywhere to turn. Someone should have prepared you for it all. A true friend, pastor, or professor should never have left to you to discover all of this by yourself, all alone, in the middle of the battle

I have watched men who love God be so desperate that they nearly go crazy. They want to be used of God but had no idea what they were getting into. They didn’t know that culture could affect them that way.

I have seen them fall into sin. Others have simply given up and left the field that they were positive was God’s call on their life and come back to drive a truck, work at Disney World, or some other life that was the opposite that they had dreamed of. They become frustrated, bitter, hateful, spiteful, and often just pull away from God and His people.

They see other missionaries that have been blessed. They have had great success. They wonder why that can’t or isn’t happening for them. They love God. They want to do right. They are good people but they are untrained. No one ever told them how to do what they were sent to do.

They were simply told, you will know what to do. God will help you, my brother. We are praying for you. We are here for you and holding the ropes.

The missionary feels the pressure to perform. He told everyone that God had called him. He told them that God was going to use him to do great things. He began to believe his own presentation, his news releases. Now he is on the field. He doesn’t know what to do. He has no one to ask. Everyone tells him that he is doing a good job but he knows better.

When he goes to conferences to learn it never seems to be about where he lives and works. No one understands him. They are pastors. They have good churches. They live in America. Things are different.

Wouldn’t it be great if there were people that had been further down the road and could share what they had learned. Wouldn’t it be great if someone who had lived in a cross cultural ministry could share what He has learned.

Why are there so few books on the subject? Where can I go to get help?

Missionaries don’t share their secrets. If you are blessed enough to have a good friend or mentor you are the exception. Especially if he will tell you what to do. Rather than recognize missionary newcomers as future allies, they are often treated as competition. Missionaries reject potential missionaries as rivals. Maybe it’s because they take the ministry for granted, the things that they have learned.  Maybe they’re selfish. For whatever reason, it’s hard for new missionaries to get in.

Not here.

We are still figuring all this out, and we don’t consider ourselves experts or think that we compare in any positive way with the great missionaries of the past. But we are working on it.  We are seeing God do some amazing things. And, we are not going to keep our mouth shut.

We are going to help. We are going to be an open book. We are going to write about the process here and answer your comments and questions the best we can.

If you weren’t born knowing how to do the ministry and never had a mentor to really share his missionary life with you, it can be difficult to break in. But you can do it, and We are going to help.

How do I know if this place is for me?

If it is your heart’s desire to see people saved, churches started, pastors trained, and a sustainable ministry that continues long after you leave, but have no clue where to start –

If you would and are ready to do whatever it takes to make a difference for the Lord Jesus, learn the language, adapt to the new culture, train men, and make others a success – We understand.

If you dream of the day when there are churches and people who have been truly impacted for the Lord Jesus. If you are wanting to start multiple churches and leave trained national pastors who are able to succeed and do great ministry – We get it.

If you are a man or woman of God and just do not want to blow it as a missionary, you do not want to fail all the pastors, churches and people that have trusted you – We’re trying to keep things in focus too.

If you would rather preach than eat, serve God or die, do something big or go down trying – We couldn’t agree more.

If you are tired of hearing what God did before or used to do. If you long to see God move like in the “good ole days” then we are here to help you.

If you are not satisfied just living the normal, boring, routine life that everyone else lives. If you do not want to just live like an animal, getting your nest, your wife, your comfort, your children, breathing air, taking up space but making no eternal difference then we understand each other.

Who Won’t Appreciate This?

If you think other missionaries and men of God are your competition, would rather build yourself a big name than have a good name and if you are afraid to teach others what you have learned because they might get some support, attention, etc that you wanted then you can move on now.

If you think that we are all missionaries whether it is across the street or over the seas then you will probably not need this site.

If you want to bloom where you are planted then – Hang your head in shame elsewhere.

If your idea of ministry is it being all about you, focus on your life, all God has done for you, how to have a happy home, how to keep my kids out of the world, etc then We may have a misunderstanding here.

If you are not ready to leave it all, die to yourself, take up your cross, and go for the kingdom then you do not have what we are looking for.

If you just want to enjoy life instead of risking your life-Stop it!

We are not against others and we want all of them to enjoy it all but this is a site for warriors. People willing to spend and be spent, love and be loved less, give and get taken advantage of so if that isn’t you then there are plenty of other URL’s for you just down the road.

If you are looking for the easy way, wanting to make something of yourself, be success, get recognized, then move on.
