2Timothy 3:12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
God’s people will suffer persecution. That is promised and to be expected. The fact that we live without it speaks poorly of our lifestyle and conversation. Our goal is to avoid persecution at any cost. We have joined the politically correct crowd. Everyone can believe what they want as long as they believe it strongly. That way no one picks on us.
Our missionaries do not expect to be persecuted. We don’t expect them to be persecuted either. Just sounds foreign when you read this verse doesn’t it?
Tomorrow’s reading 2Timothy 4
In the sight of the Lord
2Kings 15:34 And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD: he did according to all that his father Uzziah had done.
The common thread here in the book of Kings is the quote, in the sight of the Lord. Right was determined by Him not by culture or the people. Wrong was determined in the same way. We have an obvious problem when we forget to seek God to know what is right or wrong. The Holy Spirit does lead and guide but when He speaks He speaks “Bible!”
